Dennis Cooley is the author of 19 poetry collections. Leaving (1980) and Fielding (1983), an extended poem in memory of his father, have been followed by: Bloody Jack (1984), Soul Searching (1987), Perishable Light (1988), Dedications (1988), this only home (1992), goldfinger (1995), sunfall (1996), passwords (1996), Irene (2000), a second edition of Bloody Jack (2002), seeing red (2003), country music (2004), the bentleys (2006), by word of mouth (2007), correction line (2008), the stones (2013), and abecedarium (2014). He has also published two critical studies on Canadian literature, The Vernacular Muse (1987) and Eli Mandel and His Works (1992), and completed a third book (on Robert Kroetsch).
