Vanessa Rotondo (better known as V) is an Ottawa-based freelance writer, national spoken word artist and youth engagement coordinator/arts educator. In 2013, she released an anthology of her poetry entitled, Since February, followed by her debut spoken word album, Watch Your Driving: a Spoken Word Album by V, funded by the Ontario Arts Council and the City of Ottawa in January 2015. She has also released cinepoems entitled, “R.I.P Ms. Focus,” “Electropoetry,” and “WordPlay4Change,” a social media project in partnership with Sexual Assault Network Ottawa and Carleton University this year. V is a keen believer in using her art form as a way to effect social change. She has worked with young aspiring writers in schools and communities across Canada and more recently aboard, in East Africa.
