Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir is known for her poetic bridge between mediums and has performed in various festivals and exhibitions around the world. After her first book of poetry she won the Icelandic poetry award Ljóðstafur Jóns úr Vör but early decided to focus on the live representation of the poem, often woven together with visual art and music. Her work has been described as "otherworldly”. The many mediums she uses are drawings, film, sound art, installations and performances with a focus on word-related phenomenon, language and taboos.
